Mark Light is President of First Light Group where he
strengthens leaders to Do Great Good. He is a trusted and seasoned leadership coach, a master
teacher known for inspiring and actionable learning, and a street-smart writer.
His leadership experience includes 15 seasons transforming the undiscovered
Victoria Theatre into a top-30 arts center where he was a decade-long Tony
Awards voter. Mark holds a BFA from Drake University, MBA from UCLA, Ph.D. from
the Antioch University Graduate School of Leadership and Change.
As a trusted leadership coach, Mark is an
International Coach Federation Associate Certified Coach,
an iPEC Certified Professional Coach, a Gallup
Certified Strengths Coach, and a Certified Facilitator for Everthing DiSC
Workplace and Management, and the Five Behaviors for teams. He is certified to use all
of the Center for Creative Leadership's assessments
and he is a graduate of CCL's Coaching for
Greater Effectiveness and Leadership Development
programs.
Mark is a master teacher whose classroom is anywhere leaders attend
his active-learning seminars. He was
consistently the highest rated full teaching professor at
DePaul University's School of Public Service where 95% of
students would take another course of his, and an instructor at Case Western Reserve University's
Weatherhead School of Management where he received the
prestigious Mandel Center Teaching Award.
Mark's street-smart writing has led to three
published books: Results Now,
The Strategic Board,
both from Wiley & Sons, and Executive Committee
from BoardSource where he served
for many years on
its Council of Editorial Advisors. He has written for
Board Member
